  13. My modem works fine in ms-dos on my desktop computer  but when I try
  14. to use it in a windows aplication it can┤t detect the modem. Works
  15. fine on my laptopcomputer in all windows apps.

  17. It does work in a ms-dos window under windows though.

  19. The modem is a ufomate p1496mx- 9 pin serial
  20. The desktop is a 486sx33, 4Mb ram, 8250 25-pin uart
  21. I┤ve tried three different 9->25 pin converters,
  22. It couldn┤t be the uart, as it works fine under dos.
